Hi there.
I want to introduce myself. My name is Tessa, founder of Pryor Creek Chronicles and Pryor Creek Creations. I am here to share my homesteading journey with you, and hopefully encourage you to live a more natural, self-sustaining life, in whatever capacity that works for you.
My husband and I got some land close to my family and we just put a house on it. Now we are beginning to build our homestead. This blog will be about everything in our daily life, from gardening and chickens, to house decorating and holistic/natural and low-tox living.
I grew up on a cattle ranch, and my grandmother always had a garden big enough to feed the whole family, not to mention what she canned in the fall for us. She also raised chickens that we butchered every summer to have chicken in our freezers all year round.
For a long time, I have had a steady pull back to a more self-sustaining life, and that point was driven home for me during the Covid pandemic when we saw what happens when the government has control of our food source. My husband and I have talked about it a lot and this is the life we want for our boys. So, after almost 4 years in an rv, traveling full time, with our two sons and our dog, building transmission power lines, we are going for it. And I am so excited you are here to go along on this journey with me!!
